Opened in 1934 as Japan's first terminal department store, it was seamlessly integrated with Shibuya Station for 87 years. The faded stairs and old dining hall became an unconscious landmark for countless people, synonymous with the phrase 'let's meet in Shibuya.'

Editorial

In Shibuya, the former Tokyu Toyoko Department Store stands as a testament to time, once a bustling terminal now transformed into a beloved shopping haven. As you step outside, the warm scent of wood envelops you, and the lively interplay of faces evokes memories of yesteryear. Morning light spills in, illuminating smiles that echo the vibrancy of the past. The aroma of coffee wafts from the café, drawing in children with gleaming eyes, while evening casts a soft orange hue over the street, blurring the lines between past and present. Through the windows, the bustling crowd reflects a scene akin to a cinematic moment, where everyday life takes on an extraordinary charm. As neon lights illuminate the night, one can sense the ghosts of the terminal lingering, the whispers of history intertwining with the present, making this more than just a shopping destination—it’s a warm gathering place for all.
